What can I do with my eBook?
In addition to zoom, reading, and downloading, eBooks are fully searchable and users can annotate, bookmark, and highlight them. You can search for terms in a single book, across all your school's subscribed titles, or across the full site. You can also print a limited number of pages.
What can I do with the social networking widgets under the Share This icon?
When you are in the View Inside reader, you can click the Share This icon in the top right corner to share a preview of the title to your favorite social networking site. Once you share a link to a title, anyone in your social network who clicks the link will get to preview the first few pages of the title.
What does View Inside the eBook mean?
View Inside gives you a snapshot of the first few pages of the book. It’s a quick way to find out whether or not the content in the book is what you’re looking for.
What eBooks do I have on My Bookshelf?
Your bookshelf will have all the ebooks that your institution has subscribed to, which may include study aids from Examples & Explanations, Emanuel Law Outlines, Emanuel CrunchTime, Glannon Guides, Inside Series, Friedman's Practice Series, and Casenote Legal Briefs, as well as over 200 video and audio lectures.
Why am I prompted to create a personal login?
When you log in to your institutional account, you will have read-only access to all the ebook content.
You can create a personal account to save notes, bookmarks, highlights, favorites, share with others, print up to 30% of the book, login remotely, and create shelves.
How do I share a book with someone?
You can share books, videos, or audio with anyone in your institution.
Click the Share With icon and enter your friend's personal username.
Features
How do I create a Shelf?
You can organize your books by Shelves if you want to have quick access to all the books in a category you design.
Next to each title, click the icon with 3 lines and a plus sign.
Then enter either a new shelf name or select an existing shelf from the dropdown.
What do I see in My Activities?
Click My Activities in the top right navigation to see a dashboard view of your activities, including books read; the number of notes, bookmarks, and highlights; and the date you last logged in.
You can also access your Favorites, Recent Activity, books Shared, and your Notes and Highlights.
How do I add notes and highlights?
You must be logged in to your personal account to save your notes and highlights. Select text and a popup gives you these options: Highlight, Note, Copy, Share Text. Select the activity you want to do.
To view your notes and highlights, in the left navigation pane of the online reader, click either Notes or Highlights.

How do I bookmark a page?
Click the bookmark icon on the top right of the page you are viewing. To access your bookmarks,
Within a book, open the Table of Content navigation pane on the left and click the Bookmarks tab.
Click the My Activity tab in the top right navigation to see your book marks in the My Notes and Highlights section. Click the Bookmark# to open that page.

Can I print or export notes and highlights?
You can export your notes and print them. You cannot print highlights.

Can I print pages of the eBook?
Yes, you can print up to 30% of the eBook. You must be logged in with your personal account to print.

How do I use the search option?
You can search for a word in the title of search for a word or phrase in the chapter content of the entire library. For a quick search, enter your search term and click the magnifying icon to see search results.
Click Advanced Search under the Search field to open more search filters.
- Check "Phrase match" to find the exact phrase.
- Click the "My Shelf Catalog" button to find the term in book titles.
- Click the "My Shelf Content" button to find the term in the chapter content across all titles in the library.
Online/Offline Reading
How many books can I download?
There is no limit to the number of books you can download at one time. Once you download the book, it will stay on your bookshelf for 120 days. After that, you can download it as many times as you need to.
How do I delete an expired book from the app?
If the downloaded book on your mobile device has expired, you can delete it from your bookshelf:
- Long press on the expired book.
- Tap delete in the dialog box that appears.
If you want to continue reading the expired book, download the book again from the app.

How do I read my books online?
Once you are on the product page for the book, click Read Online. The book will open.
If you require a PDF version of the book, please contact Aspen Publishing at Support@AspenPublishing.com.
Can I download videos and audio lectures for offline use?
Currently download of videos and audio is not supported. To watch videos or listen to audio on a laptop or mobile device, please access them online in a browser.

How do I read my books offline?
First, make sure that you download the Aspen Learning Library app. Log into your account, and choose the title you want to read and download by clicking on it. Once you click on the title, it should download to your device and you can then open it and read it. If you are signed into a personalized account, any notes/highlights/etc you made will sync once you are back online.
Downloaded books are available for 120 days, but there's no limit to the number of times you can download one.

Access
What is a Collection?
The Collections tab is where you will find quick access to any premium collections that your school has subscribed to, including Bar Review or Aspen Treatise Series. If there are no collections available to you, your school has not subscribed to any.
How do I access my school's subscription?
Your institution may provide access to the Aspen Learning Library through a variety of different authentication options. To find out how to log in to your institution’s account, ask your librarian for details about which authentication method is used by your school.
Option 1: IP Range Authentication
- Students who are within the school’s IP range can navigate directly to aspenlearninglibrary.com. The student will be automatically authenticated into the institution level and can create a personalized account or login to their personalized account from there.
- Students have access off-campus. Students must first create their personalized account when on campus, and then any time after the personalized account is created, simply log in with the personalized account information and click the “remote login” button on the login screen. If a student will never be on-campus to create a personalized account, please contact customer service to have remote login account set up.
Option 2: "Library Card" Authentication - Students go directly to aspenlearninglibrary.com and select “Login” and then Library Card Login.
- Option 3: Referrer URL Authentication (via institution's password-protected web site)
- Students log in to the library website using their credentials.
- Students navigate to the page where the link to aspenlearninglibrary.com has been placed.
- The student will be automatically authenticated into the institution level and can create a personalized account or login to their personalized account from there.
Option 4: Shibboleth or Single Sign On - Students use their student id through their school’s SSO login.
- Students go to aspenlearninglibrary.com and select Single Sign-On and then their school from a dropdown.
- The student will be automatically authenticated into the institution level and can create a personalized account or login to their personalized account from there.
Option 5: OpenAthens - Students use their student id through their school’s SSO login.
- Students go to aspenlearninglibrary.com and select OpenAthens Login, and then their school from a dropdown.
- The student will be automatically authenticated into the institution level and their personalized account.
- Option 6: Remote Login
- You can use remote login at any time you are off your campus network and you have a personalized login.
- If you do not have a personalized login, you will need to create one while on your campus network. If a student will never be on-campus to create a personalized account, please contact customer service to have remote login account set up.
- On the login screen, use your personalized name and password, click the 'Remote Login' check box, and then sign in.

How do I download a book?
There is an app for each type of platform including an app for Macs, PCs, Android tablets and phones and Apple tablets and phones.
Choose your device for the Aspen Learning Library here.
Once you have downloaded the app, sign in to your institution. Visit this page if you need more information on how to sign in.
Simply click on the "download" button next to the book title, or the cover image of the book you want to download. It will download to your device and you can read it offline at any time. Books will stay on your device for 120 days unless you manually delete them.
Administrators
How do I run a book usage report?
Only Administrators have the Admin Console tab view. Please contact your library admin for help if you need to be added.
- Click the Admin Console tab
- Click Institutional Reports > Book Usage Report
- Select a date range
- Click Search > Export to Excel
How do I add another Administrator to my school's account?
As an existing administrator, you can add a new administrator to your school's account. In the Admin Console:
- Manage Institutional User > Manage Institutional User
- Enter the details for the new administrator under Create a New Institutional User
- Check the Administrator box
- Click Create Account
